Ballot measures

MeasureWhat it doesType
Amendment 3Prohibit Abortion and Gender Transition Procedures for Minors Amendment
Prohibit abortion in most cases, and prohibit gender transition procedures for minors under eighteen.
Legislative Constitutional Amendment
Amendment 6Initiative and Referendum Powers and Legislative Change Requirements Amendment
Would declare initiative and referendum fundamental rights subject to strict scrutiny, bar the General Assembly from weakening them by statute (higher signature thresholds, shorter circulation windows, subject-matter limits, supermajority approval and the like), and let lawmakers change a voter-approved initiative only by an 80% vote of both chambers followed by voter approval.
Initiated Constitutional Amendment
Amendment 7Creation of Show-Me Prosperity Investment Fund for State Tax Reduction and Elimination Amendment
Creates a permanent state endowment fund that uses investment earnings to eliminate state-imposed taxes when revenue is sufficient to replace them.
Legislative Constitutional Amendment
Amendment 8Require Election of County Sheriffs Amendment
Requires the election of county sheriffs in most Missouri counties, establishes sheriffs as chief law enforcement officers in those counties, and limits the removal of sheriffs from office.
Legislative Constitutional Amendment
Proposition ACongressional Map Referendum
A veto referendum on House Bill 1, the mid-decade congressional map passed in the 2025 special session and signed by Gov. Kehoe on Sept. 28, 2025, which splits Kansas City, now mostly in the Democratic-held 5th District, across several districts. A yes vote keeps the HB 1 map; a no vote repeals it and restores the 2022 map, which governs the 2026 elections either way.
