Li-Te Alexander Hsu
Advisor, Energy Policy
Li-Te Alexander Hsu joined MultiState as Advisor, Energy Policy in 2024, helping bolster the energy practice and advising on complex energy, regulatory, and policy matters. He is also the Director of Policy and Research for the Retail Energy Advancement League (REAL), where he drives policy and research initiatives to expand retail competition in electricity markets nationwide.
Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate from American University’s Washington College of Law. A licensed attorney with a background in economics, he has extensive experience in state policy, including work on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission permitting, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System water compliance, transmission siting and permitting, National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure planning, utility business models, and state electricity policy. His career spans impactful roles at the Center of Biological Diversity, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, the National Governors Association, and the Edison Electric Institute.
Based in the D.C. area, Alex is a dedicated martial artist and certified Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan instructor. He also is an active member of the Virginia Asian Advisory Committee, contributing to education initiatives that improve the economic and cultural links between the Commonwealth and the greater Asian/Asian American Communities.
