Lauren Calhoun joined MultiState in January 2022 as an Compliance Intern and currently works as an Associate on the Compliance Team. Lauren is a recent graduate from The George Washington University with a Masters in Environmental Resource Policy. At George Washington she concentrated her studies on water quality policy, focusing mainly on PFAS advocacy and legislation. For the culminating project of her degree, she designed and executed a policy analysis for Anacostia Riverkeepers to determine potential policies to mitigate and reduce plastic water bottle pollution in the Anacostia River. She was also inducted into Phi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for students of public administration. Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Conservation from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Currently Lauren has returned to her home state of North Carolina and lives with her partner and their cat, Dave Meowthews. Outside of work Lauren enjoys tending to her many houseplants, baking sourdough bread, and being around friends.
